PRESS REVIEW

2026, a good vintage? • During the autumn shows, Aurélien Prévôt observed a wealth of new releases in the narrow gauge field, both from industrial manufacturers and from artisans. He provides us with a full review.

Voie Libre challenge at Le Cendre Everything we love in America • Indians, cowboys, lawmen, scoundrels of all types, miners, gold diggers, coyotes and a road runner! All this can be found in Deux Pieds au Colorado!

The Baldwin 0-6-0 saddle tank engines UGLY DUCKLINGS OF THE ARTILLERY • Bought “pig in a poke” by the French Army in the emergency of the first months of warfare, the Baldwin 6-12 type saddle tank 0-6-0 sugar mill locomotives did eventually manage to morph into proper warriors, after various teething problems.

THE GAUGEMASTER INFINITY CONTROLLER • This is a fine new release we review here, a wireless controller, analogue or digital: the Gaugemaster Infinity.

Les Trois Mages* in H0-9 • We were so impressed by Cédric Schirra’s Gare-Six-Maure project, for its qualities in terms of staging, fun and operational potential, that we asked him to draw us an H0-9 version. Narrow gauge fans, grab your tools!

Épinac to Pont d'Ouche The first railway in Burgundy • The very first railway line in Burgundy, which was also the fourth in France, was opened 191 years ago, in 1835. It linked Épinac-les-Mines, in Saôneet-Loire, to Pont d’Ouche in Côte-d’Or. Voie Libre tells us the story.

HOOKING UP! • Gilbert regularly displays his creations in 0 scale in many shows. For a long time, he has focused on the tricky question of the various connections between modules, or with the backscene panels. He shares his experience.

A CITROËN MOTOR-TROLLEY IN H0-9 • At the Tacot des Lacs preservation society, at Grez-sur-Loing in Seineet-Marne, a Citroën van converted into a motor-trolley is displayed on the platform. This was enough to prompt Raymond Duton to create a model in H0-9, using a Citroën U23 type vehicle as a base.

In your workshop A SIDE-TIPPER WAGON in 1/35 scale! • Gérard Finet shows us how he built a side-tipper wagon in 1/35 scale. A construction project for which he used as many recycled materials as possible.

MICRO LAYOUTS macro pleasure! • Micro-layout building covers many fields: a simple fun creation born from an idea, or a more complex project resulting from much thought! Two layouts, two designs, two outcomes… But one same and single motivation, pleasure!

The Flemish School Bouy-à-Bèze • When discussing a painting, one talks of composition, rythm, touch, artist’s hand, of opposing or complementary colours. For a sculpture, it is more a matter of space between the volumes, texture, light, material. By and large, the same vocabulary can be applied to this very fine layout.
