You Have to Stop This
Audiobook (Includes supplementary content)I always feared this day would come. A secret is meant to stay secret, after all. And now we've come to this: the fifth and final (I swear!) book in my saga of secrets.
A class trip to the local natural history museum turns dangerous, or perhaps deadly—and I don't mean in the bored-to-death way—when Cass accidentally breaks a finger off a priceless mummy. Forced to atone for this ""crime"" of vandalism, Cass and her friends Max-Ernest and Yo-Yoji go to work for the mummy exhibit's curator, only to be blamed when tragedy strikes. To clear their names—and, they hope, to discover the Secret—the trio must travel deep into a land of majestic pyramids, dusty tombs, mysterious hieroglyphs, and the walking dead. Egypt? Or somewhere much stranger . . .
In the midst of it all, the Secret still lurks. You're out there, reading and talking about it, and now my life—and chocolate supply—is in the greatest danger yet. So please, with a cherry on top, I'm begging you: you have to stop this!

Cass, Max-Ernest, and Yo-Yoji continue their delightfully clever adventures. This time they're in a museum's Mummy Room when things go awry. The full-cast narration is splendid, with each narrator attempting to outdo the others. However, Cass is the standout, so believably presented by Cassandra Morris that listeners can almost see her. An added benefit is that Cass is an excellent role model for modern girls. There are several amusing comments about audiobooks as the story begins, and the audio format enhances the superior writing. The gang is accused of stealing a mummy and must solve the theft before the police are alerted. Cass has also been given an ancient treasure chest, and she's determined to learn its secret. An entertaining listening experience, this production also offers many fascinating details on Egyptian history in an easy-to-digest manner. S.G.B. (c) AudioFile 2011, Portland, Maine -

A stolen mummy with a missing finger leads Cass, Max-Ernest, and Yo-Yoji on a quest to recover the Egyptian relic and to unwrap its connection to the immortality-seeking cult that sparked the trio's earlier escapades. Secrets left unrevealed in this final volume may frustrate readers, but the series' trademark mix of mystery, puzzles, and puns should please them nonetheless.(Copyright 2012 by The Horn Book, Incorporated, Boston.
